Margaret has two decades of experience working in the Education sector. She started teaching English as a second language where she enjoyed meeting people from diverse cultures and different walks of life. Margaret developed her training skills by doing the Train the Trainer course as she was eager to pass on the knowledge she gained from her experiences to teachers starting out in the field, as well as experienced teachers who wanted to focus on their continual professional development.

Margaret went on studying the DipTESOL, which aided in advancing her EFL career. Working as Head of CPD, Assistant Director of Studies and later as Director of Studies in well-established schools included mentoring teachers, developing and delivering in-house workshops and the running of the school. These positions honed her leadership skills and introduced her to a different set of skills which were non-academic, such as HR and employee relations, communication, empathy and organisational skills.

With a particular keen interest in Learning and Development in the Education sector, Margaret has enjoyed designing short project-based courses for young learners and ESP courses for adult learners. As a passionate believer in the joy of lifelong learning, Margaret is always seeking to acquire new information, knowledge and skills. She has taken courses in Management and Leadership in order to broaden her horizons. Margaret’s years of experience in managing her own teams and designing tailor-made courses for continual professional development have given her the wonderful opportunity to join Mdina’s team.
